Press [Chaosium] Congratulations to our Crit Awards Nominees!

That was quick:

I'm glad they won't be at Gen Con, even as I can't help but roll my eyes at their "due to safety concerns" crap. Speaking as a member of the Jewish community, they used a dog-whistle (and a fairly low-grade one, as far as coded language goes) to express intolerance for an entire people; they are the safety concern.

SO LONG POST INCOMING.

While I respect CRIT Awards for taking the high road — I am traveling in the basement.

@Gen_Con
has forced the CRIT Awards to withdraw because of their stance and posting about being anti-Zionist.

Full stop.

As the host of the CRIT Awards, of course I am privy to more information and (I) have signed ZERO contracts or NDAs.

This is bull****. Gen Con has chosen MONEY over MORALS. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the CRIT Awards' stance and I stand by that.

All Gen Con had to do was stand firm with the CRIT Awards but because of backroom bull****, the CRIT Awards have been given an ultimatum. Leave or we'll make you leave.

F*** that.

If you don't stand with Palestine and stand against Zionist, I'm good on you.

So this is MY ultimatum.

@Gen_Con
— rescind your decision, stand with the
@crit_awards
, and publicly state your stance against genocide and hate.

If not, I'm out.

That's my stance.
The ball is in your court.

Noteworthy: the Wayback Machine shows this policy was not present on June 14. So at some point in the past 10 days this changed, and it's possible GenCon and others approved of the awards prior to this change to their rules.

For everyone asking @OptionalRule @MGibster @Alzrius, the Crit Awards have a Chaosium category, along with categories for games by other publishers. We did some posts highlighting their Chaosium nominees, but (like Gen Con) were blindsided by this very recent change to their policies.

Mod note:
And with that, folks, if you want to discuss the Crit Awards Policy, could you please take it out to its own thread, rather than center it on Chaosium, who are not actually involved with the policy?

Thanks.
