Our Kickstarter for ElfQuest Classic Deluxe launched a few hours ago and already has over 600 800 backers!

It's the 40th anniversary of this classic BRP roleplaying game, based on the iconic comic book series by Wendy and Richard Pini. Check out everything we have to offer in our remastered boxed set of the ElfQuest RPG.

Day One is done and we've passed 1000 backers and $100K

As the first 24 hours of the Kickstarter passed we are very proud that over 1000 backers have joined us on the classic journey! Thank you all for such overwhelming support. We excitedly look forward to seeing how many more join us over the remaining 13 days of the campaign.

We have some add-ons debuting in the next day. We've had some great suggestions in coming in, and we very much appreciate the feedback on how we can improve. We're also adding more images to better showcase what we have in the works. We have a "show more stuff every day" approach to this Kickstarter so it's worth stopping in each day.

$125,000 Stretch Goal - New GM Screen

Chaosium never created or sold a Gamemaster screen for ElfQuest back in the 80s. But with all of the wonderful color art in the vast art library for the graphic novels we've created a 3-panel color screen. It features all of the commonly needed reference information on the "GM" facing side, and has full color art on the "player" facing side.

Once we reach $125,000 in funding this brand new printed item will be included for free to all physical product backers, and also free as a PDF to all digital backers. Here's a work-in-progress prototype:

ElfQuest Kickstarter update: we reached the $145,000 stretch goal (More Dice!) and the $160,000 stretch goal – More ElfQuest Personalities and Characters.

In the 40 years that have passed, many additional characters have been introduced into the setting. It's long overdue for more of them to be available in the game.

The next stretch goal is a New World Map, which we've specially created for this Kickstarter. We are working with Wendy and Richard Pini and the team at Warp to finalize all of the locations and details, so this is not the final version:

A folded version of this new color map will be added for free into the physical boxed sets of the game once we reach $175,000 in funding, plus provided as a free PDF to our $49 digital backers. A rolled version, shipped in a tube, will also be available as an add-on.

The journey continues, and although there are only a few days to go, much still lies ahead of us. We're excited to be celebrating the 40th anniversary of this iconic fantasy roleplaying game by partnering once again with ElfQuest creators Wendy and Richard Pini and Warp Graphics to bring the game back into print.

ElfQuest Kickstarter update: we passed the $175K Stretch Goal, so now we include the New World Map. This includes new places introduced in ElfQuest comics over the last 30 years but have never before been shown on a map.

The new stretch goal at $190K is More Flora and Fauna. Since the 1980s various wondrous new flora and fauna have debuted in the ElfQuest comics such as Master of Beasts, Peace Hounds, Redeemer, Blackneck, Ravvit, Shagbacks, Tusk Hogs, Bellyripper, Maraeva, and Allo. We’ll be adding around a dozen more entries to the roleplaying game, increasing that chapter by almost 50%. We'll also include more creature-related art from the comics.

There's just over two days remaining to back our kickstarter:

The new Stretch Goal is a Set of Standees ($205K). We've created a sheet of (2mm thick) cardboard full color, double-sided, die-cut standees. They will come with 10 plastic stands. The standees will range from beloved characters and personalities from the original 20 comics, plus Trolls, other creatures, and some generic elves and wolves. Here's a taste of one row from the draft sheet mockup with the die-cuts:

ElfQuest Kickstarter update: As the clock winds down with less than 20 hours to go we're extremely grateful to the 1800+ backers who've helped us break $200,000 in funding.

As part of that thank you we're increasing the size of the character sheets in the books. In the original books at 1/4 size they were very hard to read, let alone actually use, but no longer. They will now be full size (8.5" x 11')! Here's a side-by-side comparison, the new version is on the right:

That will increase the page counts of the books by a few pages, but we think it is well worth it, and our backers have earned it.

There's still time to jump on board and back the Kickstarter!
