The headmaster liked the attention brought to the school and pushed Richard toward further athletic excellence, but only as long as he pursued his studies in a satisfactory manner. </p><p></p><p>He began to travel with various Under-umpteen teams, progressing well year by year. When he graduated secondary school, Richard was instantly recruited by one of Manchester's discovery teams. He played for Manchester for four years where he performed admirably. At last, he earned his shot at the national team. For another three years, Richard Percivale lived the high life as a sports star. </p><p></p><p>During the last World Cup, playing for England, Richard suffered a devestating injury to his knee. Three ligaments and a muscle required repair. All the Queen's doctors and all the Queen's physical therapists couldn't put Richard's knee back together like it had been. </p><p></p><p>One of the therapists recommended he try Yoga to regain his prodigous flexibility. He did, eventually spreading his interest into Tae Kwan Do, a martial art focusing on footwork. Still, he never regained his status with his professional or national teams. His contracts grew smaller and a subsequent injury took him out of professional sports for good. </p><p></p><p>Richard took what little money he had left and bought a townhouse in Southampton where he rents out rooms to college students and single people. He still has a bit squirrled away, but splurged recently on a Cooper-Mini.
