I was orphaned into the care of one of the families there. I was told that my family had died protecting me from one of the mountains gaurdians. I was raised as one of their children.</p><p></p><p>Most of the young men in my colony have done what I did, and accepted the rites of our leader so that we may begin our training. The training is long and arfuous, and takes several years, not that we must train to fight, but we must be taught the ways of the broodic warrior. I was no exception. Few are taught because the population isn't that great, and fewer children are birthed with each passing decade (because of the cities longevity, they choose to only have children occasionally). My eyes changed from brown to red once I completed the training.</p><p></p><p>After the test, I felt I was ready to depart from home, to search out a place for me in the world. I was warned of the safeguards protecting the passes from outsiders, and how to pass them. The guardians, which apear to be dragons, are just shells of them, with no spirit inside. It was difficult for me to make it through the passes, because back then I could only maintain my dragon form for small amounts of time.
