The damage is appropriate for the type and size of the animal based on MM tables. I havn't had much contact with black bears v. panda bears, but imo, p/b not a good comparison(deaths caused by x) because there are far more black bears than pandas, and blackbears are more agressive-more to do with nature. if backed into a corner i think the panda would maul anyone that stood between it and its 80lbs of bamboo it will eat today. google lacked any news stories on deaths related to the species. Sloth is an animal if T-Rex is an anmial. I don't have stats for one. it would be interesting. As for Wild Shape, It would seem that the size issue could be read either way and by RAW would then need to be left up to the DM. Based on the different interpretations. *The First: One could reasonably, say that polymorph is a form altering(naural state based effect) magic and does not increase size, or grant bonuses(to ability scores), therefore is not a magical effect that increases size. This means that an Animal Growth could be legally be applied to its fullest extent. *The Second: One could say: "If your size after the application of the magic is the same as, or less than your size before, your size did not increase due to the magic. Thus, Animal Growth Could be applied to its fullest extent." This argument continues: "If the size after the application of magic is greater than the size of the target before the application of magic, then You do not gain any benefit granted by increased size (or size bonuses). So, For example, a dwarf(M) shifts to a Brown Bear(L) then by virture of Natural Spell casts Animal Growth. the dwarf would only gain DR 10/Magic, + 2 Nat Armor Un-named bonus, +4 resistance bonus to all saves. *The Third: One could say that polymorph is always a size altering magic and is Animal Growth Never works on a WS druid. I suppose, like the second interpretation, there is a second part to this one: that is, if you get any bonuses at all from Animal growth regardless if your size changes as a result of this spell. This is one of those holes, it seems. RAW doesn't explicitly say either way because of unclear deffinitions. I tend to favor the First interpretation, and my roomate favors the Second. I suppose you just have to understand what your DM's oppinions on the matter are before you go rolling up a druid. (although you still realy can't go wrong with a druid-EVER)
