Looks like the US navy now has an actual laser ready for use against unmanned aerial vehicles, slow moving helicopters, fast patrol craft.

Yeah, I caught that too. Maybe he means ICBM.

The laser on the ship actually runs off it's own diesel generator:

The system is powered and cooled by a so-called “skid” that provides power through a diesel generator and is separate from Ponce’s electrical systems.

I don't know what "skid" means in this context.
