Cheap miniatures for Australian gamers. Sort of.

If you don't mind having Shrek marching around the battlemat, that is.

Coles is selling plastic figurines of the Shrek characters at the checkout. $4 each, I think, and the bases are about the right size.

The armoured Shrek would make a decent hill giant, and the baby dragon would be a menace to any adventuring party.

Somehow, I think that Shrek on the battlemat would steal what remaining seriousness was left in my game. Plus my wife would probably steal the Shrek figures!

Are the available Australia-wide? And how much are they?

I've seen them at Coles in Canberra, but I imagine they're nationwide. As I said above, I think they're $4 each.

I'm sure they could be repainted to look less Shrek-y. There's one shrek with a full-face helmet and breastplate, which would look mean if he wasn't in an Elmer Fudd-ish tip-toeing sort of stance. The Farquaad is about ogre size in the D&D scale.

If it's all too much, you could have a go at them with a lighter and turn them into runny earth elementals!
