I think, if those options were on the table, there would be hue and cry and long rants about how you 'can't' take flavorful starting feats because that hamstrings your entire class career not taking War Caster/Great Weapon Master/Mage Slayer/Resilient at level one and then power-maxing your main attribute with every further ASI. I don't know that I would consider those positions to be accurate, but I certainly suspect they would show up with non-trivial frequency.</blockquote>
