Chinese Castles

I was looking for info on these for a Three Kingdoms era campaign, but can't find much out. I found a page saying that early Japanese castles were based on the Chinese style, but that they later changed. I have a PDF map of a typical Japanese castle (for Sengoku), is that after the style changed? Or would that work for a Chinese palace as well?

If you find out let me know; I ran a Vietnamese campaign for almost a year and never could find any info on the net about Chinese or Vietnamese medieval castles.

Depends on how accurate you want it. I mean, as long as Kongming, Liu Xuande and Cao Cao are running around, the castle descriptions will be of less import.

I've seen a few of the surviving city walls around China; if you want a general description of them, make sure the words TALL and THICK are included.
