I've always looked at the "aging rules" with a kind of wary suspicion - very few games ever have a large enough timespan for the rules to make any significant difference any more, and since Ghosts no longer age people, and the Haste aging penalty left with 1st edition, there just doesn't look to be a way for most characters to get old enough to start walking the aging penalties.
I'm wondering, does anybody here use the aging rules? Has anybody played an "older" character from 1st level? Was it balanced? How many munchkins have you run into that want to play a Venerable 20th level Druid for the +3 int/wis without any stat penalties?
Just curious...
