Chosen of Mystra headaches...

There seem to be two Chosen of Mystra abilities that either don't make sense or dont jive with character descriptions...
(Note: this is all relevant to my game, as the PCs, while traveling through time for another purpose, brought back a young girl who was Mystra's first try at creating offspring by posessing humans and reproducing, who would have been killed before reaching adulthood if the Pcs didnt screw with anything)

1.Immunity to aging. 7 of the 9 Chosen were born that way. Would they have not had any penalties for being too young? Were they born with their full, redulucously high adult stats, +10 Con and all?

2. Immunity to Poison: Some of the chosen, iirc, were often described as hard- drinking, either currently or in their wild youths. But if they are immune to poison, wouldnt that mean that they cant get drunk?

3. Do they get their bonus spell of each level stating at level one, or does it somehow relate to their level? It seems to be the first, but ahts a bit odd I think.

Pick an age that this power "kicks in" for the NPC. According to this they would be babies still as they could not age at all.

If you see beer as a poison, yes. If not they could get drunk.

I would rule they would get them starting at level 2 of their class. Then again thats just me.

Why should the bonus spells kick in at level 1?????

You usually don't start as Chosen at Lvl1. At least I think so. When you reach lvl22 or so then it kicks in.

Getting drunk is nothing more the dehydration. Don't drink any liquids for a few days and you'll feel the same way.

All these templates are actually coming out in the Faiths and Advatars book in a few months. Hopefully, they will have better explainations then.

Have you counted Halaster?
According to Ed Greenwood´s last(and silly) book, he must be one of the Chosen too. :D

The FRCS clearly says that the Seven Sisters,Khelbie and Elmie are only the known Chosen, but not all of them. ;)

Well, see, Mystra's been around (in one form or another) for a long time. Every once in a while, she picks someone to become her Chosen. However, since those she picks are pretty powerful, and become more powerful, and stop aging -- well, they tend to survive. So, they hang around Toril, and pretty soon, they're cluttering the whole place up. That's why there are so many.

Or maybe Mystra's just not very picky. "Hey, baby, wanna be My Chosen?"

In any case, the next step is for some planar traveler to talk to 'em, explain how their employer is exploiting them. Then they'll unionize.

<Hits DM_Matt on the nose with a rolled-up newspaper>

Stop using real-world cause-&-effect reasoning when dealing with magic-heavy metagaming issues. You'll drive yourself nuts.

"Hey, baby, wanna be My Chosen?"

Ever the popular patron goddess.

Now we need the tell all book from spurned former favorite, Azuth.

Care to explain that?

A poison is a chemical that injures or impairs.

Alcohol is a chemical that imapairs, thus it is a poison.

Why do you think they call it intoxication and alcohol poisoning?
