The DMG and some UA provide enough alternate rules to cobble something together, and I have run a 1920s gangs of New York style game with them. The Unsleeping City by CollegeHumor is another series that has done it well.But I totally agree with you, in that there's almost no chance Masque of the Red Death will appear before several other products that provide more groundwork for it first. I even find the addition of other Domains of Dread kind of doubtful, as none of the others are nearly as iconic as Barovia.</blockquote>
