[QUOTE="RodneyThompson, post: 3826052, member: 3594"] Not to interrupt the conversation, but I think you might have some confusion between "designers of 4E" and "designers of the new FRCS." And who those people are. I know Rich Baker is a designer of 4E, and the FRCS. Ed Greenwood is definitely working on the FRCS as well, as has been announced. It doesn't get much more authoritative than Ed. Not to mention that list is woefully small if you're talking about general 4E designers. I don't know whether or not I'm allowed to say who is designing what (still a little fuzzy on what is considered kosher as far as revealing stuff about upcoming books, at least on the D&D side of the fence) but there are a lot more people involved in both books than you've mentioned there. Not to mention that author credits are not always a good barometer of love or proficiency with a campaign setting; I've never written a Forgotten Realms book, but I consider myself well-versed in the setting (having run FR throughout all of second edition and kept up with it in 3rd). I think this was kind of the thing that Chris Perkins was trying to get at in his blog: the decisions being made aren't being made by one new designer, or even a handful. It's a team effort, and yes, that team includes guys like Rich and Ed Greenwood (and maybe others; I'm not one of them, though). People might disagree with those decisions, but there's certainly no reason to believe that they're being made by people who are ignorant of the Realms, or even by people who are less than extremely knowledgeable about it.
