City Names

I usually dont post looking for ideas, but I am stuck for a name for a large metropolis (independant port-town) in my homebrew campaign.

Any suggestions?

Do what I do. Just wander through the material you have from other campaign worlds and just steal one.

How about Miragliano or Luccini. Or if you dont like those you could always use Newport.

You could also look at geographical name and use them. There are a lot of places that could make city names. You can also that them from real life places, every state in the US has some interesting names of cities.

I find Anagrams are always useful when I get stuck for name of something... such as taking Metropolis adn seeing what you can get out of it, doesn't always work, but sometimes you get something out of it..
