City Ruins

Lost City of Gaxmoor has a very nice ruined city map, some of the encounters might be usable, also.

I found this in a bargain bin for $3, and grabbed it just for the nifty pull-out map of the ruined city, which now has the honor of serving as the ruined city of Sotur in my Wilderlands campaign.

Another vote for Dwellers of the Forbidden City. Not only is a great adventure and setting, it conveniently features a wizard and his abode. It is also available electronically.

The last time I needed a ruined city, I took one of the city maps from the 2e Forgottem Realms books, scanned it, opened it in Paint, used the spray paint tool as an eraser and just kind of swept around the areas of the town I wanted ruined. If you recall those maps, the buildings were very tiny, and the random spray effect gave the effect of partially destroyed buildings. It was simple, low-tech and it came out looking pretty nice for the game. It gives the general idea of a ruined city, though specific blocks you still have draw out on the actual battlemat (or, if you're like us, use a collection of Dollar Store brick-a-brack buildings).
