Class and Prestige Class Abreviations

Anyone have an extensive list of Class, Prestige Class abrevations and sources for both WotC and D20 products?

Actually, no such thing exists. Publishers can't universally coordinate with every else's intellectual property, and there are so many prestige classes being published that they'd basically run out of 3-letter abbreviations if they tried.

There were abbreviations for the WOTC core rules prestige classes published in the Dragon Magazine writer's guidelines, however (along with specialist wizard abbreviations).

Dunno. Using the basic 26 letters, we have 17576 possible abbreviations. That's a lot of Classes! Though I grant you that some may not make much sense for everything (altough XXX would be fine for a specialty Priest of Sharess! )

When I write "abbreviations" I do mean it literally in the sense of an obvious shortening of the prestige class's name -- as opposed to "encodings" which would allow for arbitrary combinatorial selections, which is what you have counted.

They've started using 4-6 letter abbreviations but I can almost never tell what they are unless specifically mention in the character description. If the prestige class have 3 words in the name, the abbreviation is all caps for the 3 letters (except for of) and if there are 2 words it the first 2-3 letters of each word.

I think many prestige classes don't even have set designations given for them. I know that some 3rd party publishers use the same names (and sometimes same stats) as existing WoTC (or 3rd party) classes. There are just so many publishers out there.
