My two favorite class combos that I've played have been Monk/Psychic Warrior and Rogue/Paladin. Any of the spellcasting classes combines well with monk, giving you the ability to perform amazing feats to complement your fighting ability. The Psychic Warrior (and Psion) works particularly well because there are several powers for unarmed combat in the Psionics book. It's pretty hard to deal with a monk who's got Claws of the Bear, Claws of the Vampire, and Talons up at the same time, particularly if he's running Schism and is activating more powers every round. You can get a very high AC as a monk/psion; the Inertial Armor feat combines very well with the monk, since you won't have any Armor bonus to AC anyway. When I played this, I was playing a Githzerai. We started at 6th level; I went for Monk1/PsyWar5, because the powers were too nice to pass up. Spring Attack + Hustle is a great combo, particularly if you've got enhanced move. Use the partial action for your movement, and you can move in, get a full attack, and move out. Nasty, nasty, nasty. Rogue/Paladin is a nice combination, because it's not the kind of thing people expect from a paladin. You get to be subtle and sneaky, investigating evildoers and gathering evidence rather than rushing in, sword waving. I played this character like Batman - strict moral code, but quite willing to use underhanded tactics to deal with his enemies. It was quite a bit of fun. He actually ended up taking levels in Duelist, as he fought Florentine style, with a rapier and a dagger. He didn't have many levels in rogue, but it's amazing what you can accomplish with 6,000 gp - a Cloak and Boots of Elvenkind and a Hat of Disguise works wonders for rogue skills.
