Message: <blockquote data-quote="Kheti sa-Menik" data-source="post: 2812014" data-attributes="member: 22721">I'm not particularly well versed on the Gargoyles universe, I only have a passing familiarity with it.  I am pretty conversant with the Buffyverse however and wanted to offer some insight, storywise not legally."Buffy/Angel" has a few very specific items within its mythos.  Would gargoyles be considered demons by the world at large?  It seems within the Buffy/Angel-verse, the only "outsiders" are either very powerful magic users or demons (granted Buffy and Angel seem to see anything from outside our world as demons, be they good, indifferent, or evil).If the gargoyles are considered demons or half demons, then they may be hunted by any or all of the following groups:  The Watchers Council, the Scourge, Vampire Slayers (ala Buffy, Kendra, Faith), any of the gang from Angel Investigations, the Initiative, and a few others.  This all of course depends on when in either series (during what seasons) you have your campaign set.This would breed some interesting conflict as the Gargoyles try to prove themselves to other evil-battling forces that would look on them as part of the problem, not the solution.A random thought is that the introduction of Wolfram and Hart is an interesting aspect to this game and they could have their designs on the Gargoyles.The whole Buffy/Angel-verse mythology was shaken at the end of the 7th season of Buffy/4th season of Angel when Buffy and her Scoobie gang awakened every potential slayer in the world and made them full slayers and the Watcher's Council was destroyed.  This could lead to a very different looking Buffy/Angel-Gargoyles verse.  Teams of Slayers out hunting vampires, demons, and gargoyles.Spellcasting in Buffy appears to be pretty skill based.  Everyone from experienced sorcerers like Ethan Rayne and the Circle of the Black Thorn to novices like Xander Harris can, with the proper gear, at least participate in casting spells.  This indicates to me that magic ought to be skill based with a lot of rules covering group casting of spells.  There should also be an element of unpredictability...um how many times did Willow Rosenberg's spells misfire? Anyone remember Amy the Rat?I think in merging the mythos of Buffy/Angel and Gargoyles, you have to consider what each does to the other's universe and the consequences of turning a particular notion or two on its ear.I am NOT badmouthing in any way this idea.  I am a big fan of RPing the Buffy/Angel universe as they create a great RPG game world.And if it's D20, so the much better.  The Buffy/Angel RPG currently out is really very poor and I would look forward to a D20 version.I will read with interest, and offer more ideas as this continues, if they are desired.</blockquote>
