Clearing out my bookshelf (need advice)

Hey guys, due to recent financial and general gaming decisions I have decided to unload some of my 3.x collections. Problem is I have no idea where would be a good place to do this quickly since that is also a key factor in my decision. With the general gathering of intelligent people here this seemed like the best place or way to move my books quickly?

eBay? You can set the time people have to bid down to just 1 day, IIRC. And, if you like, you can add a 'buy it now' price, just in case someone wants it even sooner than however long you set.

If you don't want as much money (probably) you could sell to a shop, like Noble Knight - no idea how much they'll give, but it's most likely more quick (and sure). But anyway, addressing part of kitsune's post, it looks like they will give money for books (however much that'd end up being).

If you need to generate cash in a fairly quick manner, call around your area to the used bookstores and find out if they offer cash for books. Some do and it can be up to 25% the retail price since they typically resell at 50% off. I don't know of any gaming stores that offer cash for books these days, usually it's store credit and terrible prices too. If you have some really nice books, you're probably better off to ebay or put it on half.com and be a little bit more patient.

Also here at EN World, I think there is a marketplace so you can unload your stuff too. What are you unloading? Post a list and what you'd like to get.

I don't need it so quick that I would resort to a used book store, especially since I would prefer them going to someone who is going to actually use them (Where I am in south Louisiana the used book store would be the kiss of death for many of my books). The price has me unsure since I am not positive and what might be rarer, but as for the list:

Unearthed Arcana
Book of Exalted Deeds
Book of Vile Darkness
Manual of the Planes
Planar Handbook
Psionics Handbook (3.0)
Savage Species
Complete Warrior
Complete Divine
Oriental Adventures
Arms and Equipment
Heroes of Battle

Eberron
Magic of Eberron
Races of Eberron
Five Nations
Sharn City of Towers

Revenloft Campaign Setting
Ravenloft: Denizens of Darkness
Ravenloft Dungeon Masters Guide
Van Richten's Arsenal I
Van Richten's Guide to the Walking Dead
Ran Richten's Gazateer (II, III, and IV
Heroes of Light
Secrets of the Dread Realms

the only things I am truly hesitant to get rid of are the Ravenloft Campaign setting and the Eberron books for Sharn and the Five Nations.

I would think you could sell the Eberron stuff as a set on ebay and get a reasonable price. Same for Ravenloft.

I agree with Dedekind. Ebay your Eberron and Ravenloft stuff. Offload your core books at deep discount or cash them in at a used bookstore because you probably won't generate too much interest with those.

Depending on where you live, Craigslist can be good for fast moving of stuff. It also saves shipping costs, paypal and ebay gouging, and you don't have to worry about the buyer ripping you off.

A free rpg selling site created as an alternative to FeeBay is RPG Marketplace: well-worth checking out, though you'll need to promote your books on boards/etc., since it doesn't have the wide audience that FeeBay has.
