Message: <blockquote data-quote="koesherbacon" data-source="post: 6253256" data-attributes="member: 78297">I have a few reasons for opting to NPC a Cleric.<ol> <li data-xf-list-type="ol">They're my absolute favorite class, dating back to when "Elf" was a class</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ol">The group is in desperate need of a Healer</li> </ol>I decided to go with Keltheald because I read somewhere that his worshipers believe the natural formations of the land reflect the glory of the celestial planes.  He gives me the Sun and Whimsey domains.  I'm going to say that the Alignment Channel feat augments the Sun's channel ability, which will increase the DC against outsiders of the alignment chosen as well as Undead.  Since he likes the natural world to reflect the celestial planes, I'm going to say that his Clerics believe that Outsiders should stay where they are from and shouldn't interfere with the events of the Material Plane.Whimsey further augments the Clerics channel, giving it a 33% chance to roll an additional D6.  (50% chance to roll the standard amount, and a 17% chance to roll one fewer than normal).  This means that 1/3rd of the time, he'll deal an extra d6 damage to an Outsider who he isn't able countersummon as a Riftwarden.Maybe it's a stretch, but I think it works.Additionally, by having a Riftwarden in the party, it means that a significant number of my enemies' who try to summon additional creatures into the battle won't be able to.  And that means less work for me as a DM <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":)" title="Smile    :)"  data-smilie="1"data-shortname=":)" /></blockquote>
