The alternate turning ability in UA got me thinking.
What if when a Cleric made a turning attempt their was 4 possible outcomes?
What if:
A cleric makes a turn attempt normally and if the HD effected was between undead HD-2 and undead HD +1, the undead would be weakened (or some similar effect, I am thinking -2 to attacks but am not married to it) for 1 round/cleric level
If the turn check would turn bewteen HD +1 and HD +4 the creature would be held for 1 round per cleric level
If the turn check would be turn HD +5 to +8 the undead would be turned as per the PHB rules.
If the turn check would turn more than HD +8 levels the creature would be destroyed.
If the turn check was less than HD-2 there would be no effect.
Is this too good?
Should the numbers be adjusted?
Are their other "conditions" that maybe should be added?
Is there something like this in a published book?
Should undead get some sort of bonus to their turn check (like Cha modifier) DC?
Is this clear?
All input welcome, thanks in advance!
EDIT: PLAYED WITH THE NUMBERS A LITTLE, ADDED HELD OPTION
