Each class gets some new cool thing attached to it.

Fighters don't just get bonus feats, they also get weapon and armor expertise. Barbarians get rage powers, Rangers favored terrain, Sorcerers bloodlines, etc.

The tiers remain the same, really.

Wizards are still wicked good and Monks still suck (thought they got a lot of awesome new tricks and a much better flurry).

But to me the main selling point is, indeed, the SRD. The SRD just :):):):)ing rocks. They have everything there, updated and constantly corrected. They even have a good chunk of the 3rd party content, specially the Psionic line of Dreamscarred press, that has a ridiculous level of quality rivaling with Paizo.

I was a late comer to 3rd edition, but started playing with Pathfinder since the Core rulebook was released. The game has come a long way, with Archetypes and interesting monster books, among other sweet things.

Give the system a try, it won't disappoint. I also recommend reading everything again; since there are small changes here and there (like the favored class bonuses, the changes to the AC of medium and heavy armors, etc.).
