Clockwork Weapon

"Nuts. I'm glad you find it an addition to your weaponry that adds versatility, but pleasing you is my #1 concern. I had a feeling I was overdoing it, and on the wrong track besides."

No this is a good work.

"I'm more than willing to change the weapon, or rework it altogether, as I mentioned way back when. I did construct it of wood and metal. Was that wrong?"

There are a few comments made by others that should help you.

Sami Perkele

...but I have to agree with you when it comes to the size, or at least, it should look heavier...

(I agree with this)

0- Maybe make the weapon a little bigger and more heavy.

Klaus

1- Try making the barrel a little longer, so the stake can gain more acceleration upon firing.

(try it)

2- You seem to have designed a "recoil supressor" in the back of the gun. But it wouldn't be effective if the wielder had to hold the gun with an outstretched arm. If the gun is to rest on the right shoulder, the right arm should be flexed (preparing to receive the recoil) and the left arm should be outstretched (aiming the weapon).

(yes)

As far as designing goes, it looks great, with the wooden and metal parts. Just try showing more "bolts" on the metal, as a "medieval" society would have a tough time making smooth metal sections, they'd be bolted together.

(The World isn´t entirely medieval. They´re metalworking skills are propably superior to those of medieval Europe. Dont make it too primitive)

...but does anybody else think this thing would take 3 arms to reload with any speed...

(Maybe try and simplify the loading function?)

"By a gollum gun, do you mean it should look more organic and alive?"

GOD NO! Golem gun as in IRON GOLEM. Mechanical automaton as it doesnt need gunpowder to propel the projectile...

"The reference pics you gave me were old war pics of guns made out of wood and metal. I'm confused as to what you were looking for. *sigh*"

Yes I think WW2 weapons are nice. They´ve got that heavy metal feeling conbined with simplicity.

"I'm more than willing to change the weapon, or rework it altogether"

Well OK! Rework it/Change it.
