Closing My Account

Can someone close my account? I won't be on the internet anymore, so I don't really need it. I couldn't find a button to close my account.

Why not just walk away? That's what most people do. However sicne you want the account to die, just send an email to the admins asking for them to lock the acount for you .

I don't know of the admins doing that. Even with a request to do so.

They get a lot of emails. It'll take time to get a response. Also this should have been posted in Meta. It would be seen by them sooner.

Just in case, I need to ask, you're not planning to kill yourself, are you? Because if so, we can try to find you some help.

If you're leaving the internet for other reasons -- going off the grid, joining a monastery, going to prison, or returning to the future whence you came -- by all means, continue.

We have one monk fungus among us so I don't think being at a monastery means no internet. I did wonder myself and had the same questions.

Hmm, I didn't see any email. We don't close accounts, though. It's okay just to leave it; it'll be here if you ever want it back, and if you don't no harm done. No one else will use it.
