I haven't played Pathfinder, though I've been tracking it since the Beta was released. I have questions about Combat Maneuvers though. In your games, have you found it difficult for your players to successfully pull off combat maneuvers? In our gaming group we have some players that really enjoyed using trip and disarm. However, with the ability to add various AC bonuses and your dex mod to your CMD, how possible is it to pull off a successful combat maneuver?

By rolling high enough to succeed.

Consider a 16-STR, 1st-level human fighter with Improved Disarm. He gets a +6 CMB. He's facing down an ogre with an 18 CMD. The fighter succeeds on a 12 or better.

Those hardly seem like overwhelming odds.

Thanks. I hadn't actually taken a look at the CMD value of the monsters.
