Coaxial to RCA?

I know this isn't really "Software and Computers", but it's the closest forum...

I recently got an Archos Jukebox Multimedia 20, which has the ability to record directly to a .avi file from RCA imput. I'd like to put a few of my old VHS movies on it (It's a portable MP3 audio and MP4 video player), but my VCR doesn't have an option to output to RCA... Does anyone know of a converter to convert from coaxial output to RCA?

Sound like an old VCR machine... Betamax?

You could try Radio Shack for a converter. They even have a web site if there isn't one near you.

www.RadioShack.com

Otherwise, find a cheap VHS with RCA inputs and outputs, about $50 to $100.

I had the same proble a while back, while trying to set up my "entertainment center". My TV only has Coax inputs, and just about everything else uses RCA.

The best solution I found was at Wal-mart. It's a "Pelican Accessories" 5-input selector box. You can input up to 5 sources (RCA stereo audio, RCA video, S-Video), and output to 1 device. The output includes a coax jack. This will get you from RCA to Coax...but I'm not 100% positive it would work the other way. It was $30, cheaper than the one I found at RadioShack.

My understanding is that there's more going on in the signal translation than can be achieved with a simple connector. It seems that the only way to do it is with a powered device.

You may also want to look at console a/v converters, as that's what most people use these things for.
