Gable" data-source="post: 173006" data-attributes="member: 4144">Cool Boneless plot hook - this is a (supposedly) true story, recounted in Karl Shuker's Mysteries of Planet Earth (1999), which has a chapter on the Boneless and related mist-creatures.Sometime around 1950, Phyllis Brown of Sydney, Australia and a male companion were trailed by a misty entity, which shied away from streetlights (a la Haunter of the Dark), although when in illumination they could still see it outside the light's perimeter, lurking.  Also interesting is that Ms. Brown recalls a "physical pain in the region of my heart".  The thing followed them the entire way home, and was seen to be lurking outside the Ms. Brown's home when she returned.All throughout the night at intervals, a violent pounding was heard at the front door.  The next morning, Brown found a number of dead birds fallen from trees lining a lane - the same lane through which she was pursued by the mist.Sounds kinda fishy, but a great CoC hook.BTW, other than in England, these misty entities exist in Australia, China (a mountain near Kweilin is haunted by the "devil tiger"), and even Bachelor's Grove Cemetery in Chicago.</blockquote>
