Inside the asylum, two people are waiting... *There were several lounges on the main floor of the Arkham asylum, old offices that had been fixed up into meeting rooms for when the patients got visitors. This one had large barred windows facing the woods to the rear of the building, draped with blue curtains. Faded wallpaper patterned with roses was on the wall. A large lumpy green sofa was against one wall, with four stuffed chairs arranged around it. A coffee table of clumsily-carved wood stood in the middle. A few more wooden chairs and a larger table stood near the door. A large, matronly nurse sat at the table reading a book, seemingly paying little attention to the two patients already in the room.* *One was the elderly Dr. Whitherspoon, white hair and a neat white beard and moustache gracing his wrinkled parchment face. A clean white aslyum-issue uniform was his clothing of choice, neatly ironed and worn as though it were nothing more than a suit of regular clothes. Thick spectacles in iron frames dominated his face, and emphasized his large gray eyes. Thin hands held a small book steadily as he thumbed through it from time to time.* *Standing by the window was one of Arkham's most troublesome patients, one Agatha O'Reilly. A tall and sturdy Irish immigrant with a fall of fiery red hair and piercing blue eyes, she looks as strong as any man in here. Her own uniform was not exactly neatly pressed, and it was worn with an air of resentment. Today, at least, she seemed calm though.*
