I am going to say what no one else is saying. This project has been put on hold. RJK has been much busier than most of us can imagine and this has delayed his completing the project. As with all massive works they do require time. Sadly 'acts of god' intefere with peoples plans.
Now I am not saying anything disasterous has happened to rob, but he has been very very busy and just unable to complete the work..
At the moment I believe rob is working with gary on castle greyhawk. (I have been out of the loop since gen con so really have no idea what is going on around me - except i do know where i am getting my next beer from)
There was a tremendous number of preorders on this project so it is sad for us, as publishers, that it never reached the shelves, could have given rob an influx of cash so he could jump start pied piper, but more importantly the few parts i saw were really distinctive and flavorful and could have been used in any nordic type campaign.
For more details one would have to ak rob or steve.
we do have a cover we intended to use for the project somewhere.
sorry, that is probably not what you wanted to hear but since no one is chiming in...

How good are chances that this project will be 'resurrected' some day?

Book of Familiars is on track. I have all the write ups with me right now - I read all of them last night. I am very excited about this project. I am assigning art today and finding an editor (outside sourcing it this time to a professional - though all the writers are pros and a I dont' think it is going to ned much editing). Then start working with layout this afternoon.
As for Codex. I know Rob has a lot of it written and some playtested and may be willing to post it in his website???

Well, the one project I did want to see from Rob has been shelved. The bits from Gaming Frontiers 2 were looking real good too. Shame.
Hope you guys don't get the shaft on the Dark Quest series, although I personally don't like it.

Well the first product is Dark Druids, another botched d20 mechanical module by Rob. The Dark Druid Prestige, wait, core, wait, suggestions, class... yeah, that's the ticket... I think it's a Dark Quest line but I don't have the module with me to be sure.
