I just started reading X-Treme X-Men #15, and was rather amused to see a not-very-disguised Lone Gunmen cameo. (They were from another dimension and had green skin, but otherwise they were excellent likenesses.) I remember when this sort of thing was rather common - I recall having seen Abbott and Costello, Laurel and Hardy, and the Three Stooges in various issues of The Amazing Spider-Man back in the 1980s, and I remember spotting Charlie's Angels in a harem scene in John Carter, Warlord of Mars around the same time frame. I don't seem to have seen much in the way of cameos since, until just now with the Lone Gunmen.
Anybody else have any more to add to the list? I'm not talking full-fledged guest appearances (like the Marvel Team-Up starring Spider-Man and the Not Ready For Prime Time Players or the issue when The Avengers appeared on "Late Night With David Letterman" - rather, "walk-on roles" as it were, or even just an appearance in the background of a panel or two.
Here's a couple more that just came to mind: I think Death (from Neil Gaiman's The Sandman) appeared at a wedding in The Incredible Hulk, and I recall seeing a Pierson's Puppeteer (an alien from Larry Niven's "Ringworld" series) in the background during one of the X-Men's interstellar adventures.
Any more?
