HISTORY CHANNEL
Jul 01 10:00pm (Central) 60 Mins.
Original Airdate: June 23, 2003

Wish-fulfillment figures become role models for generations of children.

The description is a little vague. This is on as I post (and airs again at 2am central, and tomorrow at 10pm as shown above). It's actually a great little historical documentary on the early comic book heroes and how they developed over the years. Trouble with congress, lawsuits from early creators as their rights are lost to publishers, and the world view of their cultural impact. Lots of good stuff here...

I watched this last night. It shows a lot of interesting tidbits on how the comic business developed. Who knew that the sidekicks developed out of a push to target pre-teen boys in the fifties? And I loved the S & M inferences they point out about the Wonder Woman comics.

This was on a LONG time ago. Great show, though.

Hence the "Original Airdate: June 23, 2003" in the first post.

..and again, and again, and again. :)

Yeah, they do tend to re-air a lot of shows, a lot of times, but I guess that is the nature of cable networks. Ones like this I don't mind seeing again but wouldn't want to tape for the collection. Any comments on the content of the show?
