It could be anything. She's a slave and forbidden to speak until spoken to, so if she says anything at all, that's it for her. That would be part of the horror of the situation: that the owner is not teed off or thrown into a fit of anger. It's just a tiresomeness she shouldn't have to deal with and now she doesn't, simple as that. Try this: The PC's have come to talk to the noblewoman, who receives them in her bath. They stand back as girls hold up a towel and she ascends from the sunken bath, barely visible throught the cloth. The women wrap her and the girl wraps her hair as she begins to converse with the PC's. "Mistress, I.." the slave girl says, and the noblewoman makes a slight gesture with her hand to her other attendents, while she continues to talk to the PC's. The attendents slide a hand over the girl's mouth and pick her up, walk to the bath and slide her head under the water. Meanwhile, normal trivial conversation from the noblewoman. Have her carry on a perfectly normal conversation about trivial things with the PCs while just visible behind her the slave girl's legs kick violently but quietly as she drowns, then slowly grow still. Then the attendents remove her, not even leaving a drop to sully the mistresses' marble floor.
