Commander of the Guard - Tillich

The Commander's tent is a busy place at all hours of the day. Watch captains report their activities and patrols to their relief and Commander throughout the day. Two sentries stand guard at the entrance. They have been instructed to admit Kayen Telva, Katernin, Janaxil Serpentil and Otik upon their return from scouting the Black Wing goblins' camp.

Katernin:

Katernin hastens to walk at the head of the party as they return to the camp.

There is a swagger in her step and a smug grin on her face as she approaches and hails the guards.

"We've done what we were hired for, and far more."

The Commander's attention is drawn to the confidence of Katernin as she enters the tent and proclaims success. He turns to her and fires off a series of questions:

"What are the goblins numbers and arms?"
"How are their leaders equipped and what is their organization?"
"What is their purpose in being here?"
"What is their involvement with the bear attack?"
"Where is their main encampment?"

He slows, realizing that he is not allowing time for answers to his questions. To all but the most obtuse it is apparent that he is concerned about the answers he is seeking. He pauses to allow an answer to some or all of his questions...

Katernin:
Kate seems rather nonplussed by the barrage of questions headed in her direction. Almost, she almost looks over her shoulder at the others, but stays the motion and makes eye contact with the guard.

She thinks for a moment, and then slowly replies. "There were near to twenty goblins, armed with crossbows and various hand to hand arms. They were also creating flasks of a potion that made fire. When we discovered the main encampment, there were only eight out and about and the rest were asleep in their tents. After the first hour or so, we were gaining nothing by observation, so we decided to test their strength. We killed most, including their leader. One or two fled into the woods. We distroyed what we could of the camp, and came back here."

Kayen quickly jumps into the conversation. . .

"After killing several and routing the remaining few, we ransacked the camp to find two wounded goblins. It looks like they were injured by claws, perhaps the bear. We do, however, have evidence that these goblins were not alone. Their main leader, or who we believe to be the head man, is actually a female, goblin most likely, by the name of Sauran. The fire liquid that Katernin mentioned is indeed potent. After Kat pierced one goblin from a distance with her crossbow, he dropped a pot of the liquid into the fire and it blazed up impressively. The instructions on how to make this strange liquid mentioned the female Sauran. She was supposed to return to the goblin camp to collect the liquid they were brewing. We felt it necessary to return to report this to you instead of becomming ambushed in the wild. The goblins should be shaken from our attack still, and their production of the liquid has been stopped for now. While I am no military leader I feel that Sauran, with magical aid perhaps, had that bear attack our settlemnt to test us in preperation for an attack. The fire liquid would then be used in a siege of this town. We know they are not alone, and a bigger leader is out there somewhere with knowledge about strange alchemy. This poorly equiped camp was not the last of these goblins by any means."

The Commander listens intently to Katernin and Kayen's description of the camp and the battle. He is impressed at Katernin's description of the forces and the success that she and the other have had in defeating so many well-armed goblins.

He asks Kayen, "Did you find any more details about this Sauran? Who is she? Is she a goblin or some other race?"

"No sir we did not learn anything else about this Sauran character. The note was written in goblin so I think it may be safe to assume that she is a goblin as well, but it is not certain. I think it is also safe to assume that she has some sort of spellcasting or magical ability due to the alchemical nature of the fire liquid. Other than these assumptions we know nothing about her."

we done wht we could but some got away, maybe they will rebuild at the same location... it be wise to go back or place some guards there to rerout wht gobliniods are left. it be wise to say we didnt stop wht occurance is going down just hampered it some......
