Avalanche is a no-go. The covers are a major stumbling block for me, and the content didn't look that good, either. Mongoose has yet to release anything I like, though I hope they can do justice to the B5 license (which I expect they won't). I flipped through FFG's "X of Power" series, and immediately put them back on the shelves. Big text, little content and what is there is poorly balanced, IMHO. Purchased two S&S products, dislike one with a passion and the other sits and gathers dust, unbalanced and unused. The only thing that I've seen of Troll Lord (other than their IMHO ugly logo) is the material from EGG and his sons. All of it looks OK, but it's not really my style. And it's somewhat pricey. Nyambe sounds interesting, but I haven't gotten around to it. AEG is the same, re:Rokugan and Spycraft (and since I have d20 Modern, I'm not sure how much I need Spycraft, now). FFE has pleased with each release I've gotten from them, such as Traps & Treachery, which was a great book in the right place at the right time. WotC has made a misstep or two, but still holds pride of place. Malhavoc, Fiery Dragon, BadAxe and Green Ronin generally do pretty well for themselves. (Monte and Wulf and Piratecat currently hold the honor of "If they publish it, I will buy it") The others? Well, for many, I don't even know what they put out. Until someone mentioned atlas with Nyambe, I didn't know them, either. I have no idea what MEG actually produces, for example. EN World publishing....I'd have to look. I like printed versus PDFs usually, and most of ENWorld material looks a little too wonky for my games. I have no idea or impression as to their quality.
