Of course, I was very excited about 3e, in part because of the promise of a bard core class. My first PC was a bard (TPK at level 2).  After that character died I vowed not to play another bard until Song & Silence came out. On the day it was released I had an important business meeting, but I managed to get away and call my FLGS to see if the anticipated book had arrived. It had, and I went out of my way and made adjustments to my schedule to be able to pick it up on the way home. The day was going great, I even settled a case I had been trying to get rid of for ages on the cell phone, sitting in the parking lot waiting to go in the store. In my excitement, I rushed in and bought the book, only to return and see that I had locked my keys in the car. I called my wonderful, understanding wife, who was pregnant and at home with our two boys. She had to load them in the minivan and drive to bring me the keys. While waiting, I sat on the curb and started reading the book that would save the bard class. Only it didn't. For this I waited for months and went out of my, inconveniencing my entire family in the process? I didn't buy another splat book for over a year. Compete Adventurer better be good.</blockquote>
