Usually, when templates change the base type, I list the creature with the template. If the template doesn't change the type, then sample templated creatures are classified with the main creature.I'm certain that I haven't applied those rules consistently, but that was my usual thinking. Templates are messy to index, and those entries in the index could use some tidying.
