In the "first look at Complete Divine" thread, I mentioned I had found some errata items, and Olive asked if I would share them. I am still plowing through the spells for my project, but here are the errata items for the A-D spells, and a couple of other things I noticed. ------------------------------------------ p.142, Druid spells list, Infestation of Maggots This spell is listed twice on the "New Druid Spells" list, once at 3rd level and again at 4th. Response: It is in fact a 3rd-level spell. The other entry was to be removed. Good Gaming! *Please quote this email in any reply.* ------------------------------------------ p. 105, Staff of Incarnation The staff of incarnation allows use of 3 spells that are not published in the core, this book, or anywhere else that I know of: Lesser Incarnation, Incarnation, and Greater Incarnation. ------------------------------------------- p.157, Illustration caption The illustration has the caption "Brambles". The description of the Brambles spell has nothing to do with what is depicted. It seems more appropriate to the "Briar Web" spell. Response: You are correct. The illustration is mislabeled. Good Gaming! *Please quote this email in any reply.* ******************************************* ------------------------------------------- Question to customer service: Some of the spells in Complete Divine were revised for 3.5 in the Book of Exalted Deeds (ex. Bolt of Glory, Crown of Glory, on pages 155 and 160). The versions in the Book of Exalted Deeds are substantially different from the versions in Complete Divine. The versions in Complete Divine are re-prints of the original versions from Defenders of the Faith. Theoretically, the latest published book takes precedence, so Complete Divine supercedes Book of Exalted Deeds. Is that meant to be the case here ? Are the versions in the Book of Exalted Deeds "erroneous updates", or is the cut-and-paste from Defenders of the Faith in error ? [Edit: Response: At this point, we have to go with the Complete Divine, as it is the last published source, and no other updates appear to be forthcoming. Good Gaming! *Please quote this email in any reply.*] -------------------------------------------- pp. 160-161, Curse of Lycanthropy spell The spell's description appears to have been copied verbatim from Defenders of the Faith. It refers the reader to "Appendix III of the Monster Manual" for more information on Lycanthropy. The revised Monster Manual has no appendices. Appendix III in the 3.0 Monster Manual referred to Templates. That information is now in the main body of the Monster Manual, in the Lycanthrope entry, on pp.170-178,. ---------------------------------------------- p. 161, Decomposition spell The spell differentiates between normal and "subdual" damage. The term "subdual damage" should have been replaced with "nonlethal" while updating this spell from Defenders of the Faith. ---------------------------------------------- p. 164, Dragon Breath spell The spell's Components entry reads "V, S, M/DF", but there is no material component described in the text. Also, the descriptor reads "[Good or Evil]"; other spells with a similarly variable descriptor say "[See text]". ---------------------------------------------- Embrace the Wild is listed as a 3rd level Druid spell. It is not in the book.
