This year's convention has a super hero theme, with special super heroic events planned throughout, so feel free to come dressed as your favorite hero or villain. </p><p> </p><p> Con on the Cob hosts a wide variety of games and gaming events, including role-playing games, board games, card games, video games, tournaments, and contests. Don't miss out on the infamous CotC Scavenger Hunt, the Eternal Jamnation Guitar Hero tournament, or the mysterious Stuff From Spaaaace farm animal searching game. </p><p> </p><p> The Artitorium at Con on the Cob displays a large selection of art from some of today's most popular fantasy and science fiction artists. Panel space is available for attending artists and for those wishing to mail-in artwork. The CotC Burgeoning Artists' Competition allows children and other up-and-coming artists to display their work and have is critiqued by our celebrity judges. The Artitorium also features a variety of artistic games, workshops, and demos by a number of popular artists and illustrators. Other attractions in the Artitorium include miniature painting, childrens' crafts, and a champagne reception with special guest Larry Elmore.</p><p></p><p> The Comedy Music Extravagasm! at Con on the Cob features over sixteen hilarious musical acts from around the country. Multiple performances are planned throughout the convention, culminating in the Comedy Music Smackdown on Sunday afternoon. The OMGWTFBBQ on Friday night is a comedy music themed party and barbecue. Performers include the great Luke Ski, Worm Quartet, Sudden Death, The Gothsicles, Eric Coleman, Tom Smith, Seamonkey, local favorites Positive Attitude in their first live performance, and many others. </p><p> </p><p> Children of the Cob is Con on the Cob's programming track for kids. It features a variety of exciting events, including arts and crafts, games, coloring books made by Con on the Cob artists, movies, a costume contest, and a special party on Saturday just for the kids. </p><p> </p><p> The Hospitality Suite, or The Sinister Lair of the Evil Professor Nefarious as we like to call it, provides free snacks and beverages to all convention attendees, as well as a place to relax and play “Who Wants to be a Henchman” in which applicants attempt to win a place on Professor Nefarious's Faculty of Doom.</p><p></p><p>Con on the Cob features a 24 hour movie room, showing a selection of Japanese animation, cult films, oddities and rarities, and a few popular favorites.</p><p></p><p>Don't miss the Way Wild West murder mystery lunch on Sunday, where participants try to solve a mystery while taking on the roles of characters in the old west.
