Considering our next campaign goal

Reminds me of Hardpoints in TORG. In that game, Earth was invaded by different realities which superimposed their own reality over ours. But certain spiritually significant objects - like the Bell of Liberty - kept reality stable around them and became natural rallying points.

This also reminds me of Wormwood, a RIFTS Dimension Book setting set upon a living, sentient planet:

"A decadent, violent and deadly world ruled by demonic creatures and evil clergy who control powerful kingdoms of monsters and enslave humans. Inhuman destroyers who command the crawling towers and life force cauldrons to do their bidding. One of countless alien worlds linked to Rifts Earth by the many dimensional gateways of the ley lines."

Also uses symbionts, psychic powers, and lot of BoVD-style grittiness to flesh (heh) out the setting.

Just thought I'd throw this out there: the Sliders TV show had as its major recurring villains, the Kromags. They were essentially some kind of offshoot of humanity that was more bestial in appearance, but no less intelligent than us...and then they got their hands on some high-tech and started conquering the multiverse. But they had their setbacks...

The same idea could be behind Orcworld. The Orcs, after finding some kind McGuffin, conquered the world...well, most of it. Island archipelagos, rugged mountains, underground cave systems and the like all present their own nightmares for hunting down people who don't want to be found. ESPECIALLY if they have help from Druids and the like- Awakened animals and trees* make great spies and sentinels.

* check my sig for the link to the campaign ideas thread- I have an entry somewhere in the 40s about Awakened Aspen trees...

I am doing the savage tide campaign right now. It takes your characters from 1st all the way into epic. It is found mostly in the dragon magazines.
