Constellations as Mythological Plot Devices

I was thinking of at some point, running a world where the Gods' activities can be viewed in the cosntellations. If Thor is out hunting Trolls it will show in the stars.

If Loki has just tricked Odin, there will be a picture of it.

If Set is about to poison Horus, again, it will be in the Heavens.

I'm not sure exactly which Gods I would use but I think it would be a neat way to show the Gods as active, like in mythology and folklore, rather than this inscrutable force in the sky.

In a game like this, stargazers will be much more important and a cloudy night or week can put a people out of touch. High places with a good view of all of the stars would be in higher demand.

Has anyone done anything like this in their games or have anything to add?

Check out KoK they have the sky mapped out and I think have a class or a PrC for the reading of the stars.

I do something like this using my cosmo chart, the 'god wheel' of the gods spins around the material plane. I could see this being applied to constellations and being used to predict events, such as power shifts. Something to think about.
 



I think I wouldn't really want the stars mapped out. I would want the players and myself to come up with the main constellations and then each night either I would tell them what they saw or a player would detail what the night's sky showed.

I'm thinking it could be a way for the players to help create the adventures and the world's cosmological politics.
