Converting 2e powers to balanced 3.5 powers is a worthwhile goals. Indeed, many of the 3.5 are conversions, just not so obvious. Well, I removed the ones you got right (most of them) and just jotted stuff down. I don't have my 2e book on me right now (it's night here, and the light bulb is busted... it can't be too healthy surfing the net under such conditions). Claisentience Combat Mind - is this the one that boosted Initiative rolls? There's such a power in D20 Modern. Poison Sense - pointless. If a converted monster needs this power, make it a supernatural ability. Spirit Sense - hmm, this will take some work, I think. Psychokinesis Detonate - I'm itching to convert this one, too. Disintegrate - Disintegrate, Psionic (psychoportation) - it's Psychokinesis, and has that ray. (I would prefer an 8th-level power without a ray, myself). Molecular Rearrangement - isn't there a Matter Rearrangement power? Maybe it got cut from 3.0 to 3.5. Project Force - Telekinetic Maneuver. No... Project Force does damage, too. Animate Shadow - Control Light. (And a pretty pointless power.) Ballistic Attack - Telekinetic Thrust. Yes, but I think a weaker version would work too. (I would use Alternity's Mindwalking: A Guide to Psionics, as a source of flavor text.) Soften - there was a power in Alternity Gamma World with great flavor text for this one. Psychometabolism Complete Healing - pointless. (Just keep healing yourself ... it takes less time, too. Or use True Metabolism.) Death Field - very hard to convert. As in people kept breaking this one in 2e. (Maybe take 1 damage per power point spent to do 1d8 damage per power point spent?) Life Draining - one touch or many? If it's just one touch, it would probably be more balanced. (I would make it a 4th-level power that does 4d6 damage and drains that from the victim.) Absorb Disease - this would be easy to convert, I think. Aging - a high-level power that does permanent stat damage! Body Weaponry Cause Decay - similar to Dissolving Touch, but maybe it's worth preserving the flavor. Cell Adjustment - Body Adjustment (IIRC, Cell Adjustment let you heal 5 hp for 20 PSPs, and had no other uses) Displacement - bring this one back from 3.0. (I think we can agree that power from 3.0 wasn't broken) Double Pain - Painful Touch (or whatever it's called - the one that adds 1d6 nonlethal damage to attacks) Enhanced Strength - Animal Affinity Heightened Senses - this would be a new one. Lend Health - Empathic Transfer? Reduction - Compression (with extra text for shrinking limbs) Share Strength - so very hard to convert. Maybe use Strength burn, but what would the bonus type to your ally be? Psychoportation Probability Travel - Plane Shift to the Astral Plane (or Astral Conveyor) Summon Planar Creature Teleport Other Astral Projection Dimensional Door - Dimension Door, Psionic. Nope. The flavor was incredibly different. This was supposed to be a broken power, and while I became very skilled at breaking 2e psionics, I never found out what broke this one. (PS see Wormhole from TWatW for flavor text.) Dimension Walk Dream Travel - Dream Travel. This has a very different flavor. If a creature had a theme related to dreams, you would probably need to give it a special supernatural ability. Telepathy Domination - Dominate, Psionic. Tries not to rant... Ejection - what would this power do? I guess override Telepathy? Mass Domination - the new Dominate covers this. (Personally I can't see how Mass Dominate can ever not be broken.) Mindlink - Mindlink. See also Correspond. Mindwipe - Mindwipe. Nope. The old Mindwipe had a very different flavor. It could wipe levels, but it could also wipe memories, mental ability scores, etc. It was ... confusing to use. Psychic Crush - Psychic Crush. Nope. Very different. The old Psychic Crush used to do damage, like the new Mind Thrust. (So replace with Mind Thrust.) Superior Invisibility - I think the new Psionic Invisibility covers this. Awe - maybe this should be Aversion? Conceal Thoughts - this has been converted. (I think it's still called Conceal Thoughts.) Contact - pointless. Daydream - There was a power in Dragon Magazine called Distraction (not to be confused with Distract, right?) that did something very similar. I think it was Dragon 281, but I could be very wrong. Ego Whip - Ego Whip. Nope. Huge difference. The old Ego Whip inflicted a -5 penalty to nearly everything (super shaken condition), while the new one does Charisma damage. The flavor is actually pretty similar, though. Id Insinuation - Id Insinuation. Nope, very different. The old Id Insinuation used to daze you for 1d4+1 rounds, and was pretty similar to 3.0 Brain Lock. Identity Penetration Incarnation Awareness Intellect Fortress - Intellect Fortress (psychokinesis). Like most 2e defense modes, this one can't be converted. (The new Intellect Fortress bears little resemblence to the old one.) Invincible Foes - horribly broken in 2e. Maybe it could be converted, but it's probably best this one get shoved into a lead box and tossed into the ocean. Preferably strapped to a nuke. You can never be too careful. Invisibility Life Detection - I forget it's name, but this one has been converted. (It's the one that warns you if a creature with an Int score is near.) The old 2.0 version was just broken, while the 2.5 version did hit point damage (so use Mind Thrust 3.5). Psychic Impersonation Psychic Messenger Repugnance Send Thoughts - I'm pretty sure this one is in 3.5 (as a nearly useless power) Sight Link - Sense Link Sound Link - Sense Link Synaptic Static - Catapsi Taste Link - Sense Link Telempathic Projection - Telempathic Projection Thought Shield - Thought Shield Truthear Metacreativity Appraise Empower - Craft Universal Item. Psychic Clone Split Personality - Schism? Ultrablast - Ultrablast (telepathy). No, the old Ultrablast was a very different (and complicated) beast. Cannibalize - Body Fuel. Enhancement - Animal Affinity (mental stat) - I think. Gird - Persistent Power (which doesn't actually exist ... perhaps that's for the best) Intensify - maybe I confused this one with Enhancement. Magnify - metapsionic feats. Martial Trance - Combat Precognition, Offensive. Prolong - Extend Power. Psionic Inflation - Catapsi. Psychic Drain - converted. Receptacle - Craft Cognizance Crystal. Retrospection Splice - Quicken Power. Stasis Field Wrench
