So this thread may have come up already. I haven’t noticed if it did and I didn’t spot it on Google. There is something unique about Bg3 that is very different to other CRPGs. They normally account for the fact that a single player can point and click through combat very quickly so there are usually multiple repeating fights. Something that would be very tedious in TTRPG takes moments on screen. Owlcats Kingmaker, BG1 and 2, Neverwinter Nights etc all convert badly to table for this reason. BG3 doesn’t play that way. The locations can largely be grouped into 5 room dungeons with 2-5 fights in each. All different, all discreet. Take the Beachside Ruin. Merc’s outside, Mercs inside, Skeletons. Very manageable for a 3-4 hours game session. Same for the Emerald Enclave, same for the Abandoned Forge. Now include the fact that the maps for BG3 can be screen grabbed and even have 5’ square grid markings when you zoom in, I think it would be trivially easy to convert this across the 5e. The only ‘challenge’ would be stripping out the magic items - they clearly didn’t get the 5e memo on item quantity - but aside from that it’s set up pretty darn well. What do people think? Easy or difficult to convert? Would you folks do it? If you would do it, then would you play it straight or would you take bits out? If so what would hit the cutting room floor? For me, less shadows and shadowcursed vine blights. Other than that it’s hard to think what I would remove.
