Converting D&D adventures to work with other rules sets

Hello,

I am considering running the U1-3 series under the C&C rules and I was wondering how it should be converted. What are the basic steps involved in doing something like this. Could any of you 'Conversion Masters' give me some starting points on what should be done.

Thanks in advance.

One note, there is a conversion forum on these boards. IT's a subforum of the D&D rules forum.

However, you're likely to get better help in the 'd20 Modern, d20 System & OGL Games' forum. All discussion of C&C should go there anyway. FInally, you might be better posting at the TLG boards, or perhaps the www.dragonsfoot.org.

Hi-

Just a bit of advise; I strongly recommend that you really need to like the adventure your converting, its a ton of work indeed. The fact is, I never seriously concidered converting anything untill I read Masks of Nyarlethotep. I thought to myself, this would make a great epic campaign for the forgotten Realms.

The other advice is that, unless you are doing the conversion for someone else, you don't have to do all the conversion at once. You can just focus on converting the pieces you need for where the party is.

It should be relatively straightforward to convert D&D adventures C&C.

I converted UK 2 and UK 3 to Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay a number of years ago. I should think converting it to C&C would be relatively painless. Here's my advice: fully convert over the major NPCs, but only have the most basic stats for other encountered monsters and if you really need to know something more about the monster during play just wing it.

Good luck - I really enjoy running those modules.
