[QUOTE="The Grassy Gnoll, post: 6846983, member: 6788652"] Your plot hook is already there: a friend has had his dog and with it his faithful dog walker go missing. Go find. The dog walker is Sildar. When they find Sildar they find from him that this was a diversion and their friend (the Gundren role) is under threat. He has heard that the Black Spider is after him and it may already be too late, the Stonemouth Gang (ie Cragmaws) have kidnapped him. His dogs have been on the scent of something, something big, a legendary mine under the city from before there was even a city here, with a fabulous treasure inside it. Hence why a veteran like Sildar was being used to 'walk' the dog. Turns out when Gundren is found, he has two other dogs, dogs that have followed a scent underground. One is found dead (Tharden), the other kept tied up as a pet by Nezznar (Nundro). The fabulous treasure turns out to be a huge gem that was ensorcelled to keep the Underdark out. Nezznar wants to destroy it and lead a Drow war party up under the city walls, but it has been protected by a flame skull and a spectator. His use of street gangs (the Gobbers, first encountered; the Stonemouths; and their confederates the Grey Bears), is through him controlling them on the promise of being raised from the gutter to the gentry come the drowvolution.
