A week ago (or something like that) there was a really cool thread up here about creative ways to use immovable rods. I thought it was just fascinating to read. I was wondering what some other magic items are that people have unique and creative ways to use.

Well, I once had a player standing on a slick, icy surface use her Decanter of Endless Water as a propulsion system...

Back in the 1E days, I had a lawful good monk who got a dagger of venom as his share of the party loot. Rather than trade it in or sell it, he cleaned it out, filled it up with holy water, and used it against corporeal undead.

Sadly, this trick doesn't work in 3E...

Hmmm....my rogue has boots of levitation. if we need to fly somewhere, we simply cast fly on the fighter and mage. fighter carries cleric, and mage pulls the rogue.*rope around his waist*.
