Now, which self-respecting party is going to wait for the stupid ranger to forage his food when it's easy as cake to either carry food with you or conjure some chow? The foraging is also so very inefficient. The poor ranger-sod can't even feed the whole party whilst foraging so even if the party is prepared to wait up they still need to get more food. In the ELH you can learn that foraging at your full movement is DC 40! Indeed. What's the point of such a non-ability?</blockquote>
