Boccob is the necessary deity of magic - and in some people's view one of the better ones, due to his neutrality. Hextor and Heironeous have a long and well known conflict and in some respects represent the opposite aspects of war (chaotic slaughter, organized strategy - rather akin to the difference between Ares and Athena, actually). Of those that almost make the grade, we have: Erythul, Fharlanghn, Kord, Olidamarra, and Wee Jas - deities of malace, travel, strength, trickery, and death / magic. It will be interesting to see how the current seeming pattern / balance changes over the next few polls. I image that once Tiamat, Pelor, Ehlonna, Nerul, and Gruumsh are out of the way the votes will fall more heavily upon the lower tiers - likely changing the balance notably in the process.</blockquote>
