The "Magic" Platinum from MoF is a wopping 2,500gp/lb.

Forgive a poor DM who doesn't buy everything D&D3 but what pray is magic platinum?

The deal is, you make a weapon with a platinum head. Now it's too heavy to fight with, so you enchant* it so it's possible to fight with. The result is a heavy weapon, which is exotic and does more damage. And costs a lot. The physics of the thing are beyond me.

While I agree with your mithral cost, where did you get the cost of adamantium?

mithral 500gp/lb.
adamantium 1000gp/lb.

I find it interesting to note that the mitril price matches Tolkien's figures... (10 times the price of gold when available, if not it is priceless).
