Even though I dislike some previous seasons of Encounters and I think Essentials characters are boring in the long run, they're doing something Paizo is ignoring and actively trying to get people into the hobby via sponsored play. Even though 3E is far from my favorite system I would prefer to see Paizo trying to make it more accessible to beginners with less of an emphasis on system mastery and caster supremacy. Sadly, this does not appear to be the route they are taking.</blockquote>
