Could you please help me find small clay urns?

I'm trying to gather up a dozen or so simple small clay urns, each no bigger than an apple. Preferably they'll have a small mouth, just wide enough to stick a folded piece of paper through. And be somewhat hard, but fragile enough to shatter with a good impact.

Anyone know somewhere I could order such a thing from? (Preferably cheaply.)

How long do they need to last? You could make them crudely out of play-dough to your own specifications and bake them.

Failing that, try a deli. See if they've got any fancy food in fancy jars, such as olive oil or vinegar. Find out if they've got any empties.

Craft shops and pet stores (such things are often used as aquarium decorations) might places to look as well.

I second the craft stores recommendation. This sounds just like the kind of thing the "Michael's" chain of craft stores would sell.

you may want to check out second hand stores like Value Village (or it's local equivalent) or even a pottery store. Heck, maybe even one of those knick knack stores you see at the mall (you know the ones. they sell worthless crap and are covered with black lights).

Dilemma solved. I bought a huge cache of discount glass tree ornaments (the big round ones with cool decorations on them). You can pop off the top of the ornament, which reveals a hole just big enough to slip a rolled up piece of paper through. This should work out.

Hmm. You said you wanted to break them? Broken glass is a lot nastier than broken crockery.
